A fire can have devastating
consequences be it large or small. Naturally getting back into
business is at the forefront of those whose business has been affected.
However, determining the exact cause of the
fire can help to prevent a repeat occurrence, and can also help
with Insurance claims, particularly where faulty products or
workmanship can be demonstrated
The Local Authority Fire Service may investigate
a fire, but, unless there has been loss of life or substantial
damage, their resources are limited and they may not be willing
to spend time on what may be a commercial enquiry.
Similarly Loss Adjusters may well stop "looking" at
the point where a settlement can be agreed, whether or not the
precise cause of fire has been accurately determined.
What Should You do?
Notify us at the earliest opportunity. The sooner we are on the scene
the greater the information and personal recollections that will be
available.
International Fire Consultants Ltd (IFC) can
help you draft an emergency plan. The Fire Brigade report may
not address the requirements of your defence team. Once the scene
has been disturbed or refurbished it may be difficult for you
to challenge any other reported 'facts'.
What Can We do?
We have fully trained and qualified Fire Investigators with a track record
of success at fires where both the fire brigade and the insurance investigators
failed to determine the correct cause of fire.
We can attend the scene of fire, investigate
the circumstances, arrange for samples to be analysed and tested,
and prepare reports to support claims and to satisfy you that
the cause has been determined beyond all reasonable doubt.
