Intfire (Cyprus) Ltd Facilitate ISO Meetings

The IFC Group Company; Intfire (Cyprus) Ltd helped to organise and host the International Standards Organisation’s Group meetings for Spring 2007 in a hotel near its Limassol Office. The Working Groups of ISO TC92/SC2 specialise in the development of tests and guidance documents in relation to fire resistance and fire resistance testing. The meetings were attended by representatives from all over the US, from many offices and organisations in Japan, Canada, Europe and the UK. IFC Group are heavily indebted to the CYS (Cyprus Standards Organisation) for their assistance in organising hotels and meeting venue and also for their contribution, alongside Cyprus Tourist Agency in hosting the formal working group evening dinner.

The meetings took place in a convivial atmosphere which meant that the group was able to progress a number of the draft test methods including some that were to be sent off for publication as International Standards. The IFC Group were well represented with Peter Jackman, Technical Director convening the Working Group 7 meeting and Hans van de Weijgert being the Expert to Working Group 2 with Dr Spyros Spyrou of the Limassol Office attening all but two of the 8 Working Groups.
